Interview with Katrina Weidman
Tuesday March 11, 2008 8:23 AM
Katrina Weidman is the interviewer for the Penn State Paranormal Research Society and I recently spoke with her about her interest in the paranormal field and her experiences as a PRS member and college student.
Emily: What inspired your interest in the paranormal?
Katrina: Growing up in a house with activity got me interested; also my mom's side of the family has had a lot of experiences, so I grew up with the idea that there is something more to this life on Earth. My brother passed away in '97 and that too showed me there was more to this life. It was most likely the combination of all those things that made me want to learn more about the paranormal, I just remember being about 10 years old and reading books on the paranormal.
Emily: What's the weirdest or scariest thing you've seen, heard, or experienced so far while working with PRS?
Katrina: Well, there's been things that have happened to me on investigations that I can't explain. I've never been scared on an investigation because I completely trust everyone in PRS and I feel 100% safe around them. I guess the weirdest thing that has happened would be during Dead Time. There's been a few times where I've heard a voice and then we picked it up on an EVP. Frank's box was interesting too. I don't really know what to make of that.
Emily: What's it like being a student at Penn State, juggling both school and PRS? How do you handle it?
Katrina: Oh gosh... it's hard. I honestly don't know how I've done it — very understanding teachers I guess. It's a lot of work — it's like having two full time jobs. It just really takes dedication and I've had to cut out some things, like other clubs and my social life. I have a lot of support from my family, friends, PRS, teachers, and classmates, so it's made it much easier, but there's still a lot of juggling that goes on. I just try to stay as organized as possible.

Just wanted to say I admire the work you do and your dedication to it. I find the paranormal fascinating and have had a few experiences myself, they scared me when I was younger but not anymore because I understand more, some of that understanding is due to the PRS and the show and your sites.
