Deja Vu and Precognitive Dreams

Tuesday March 4, 2008 8:28 AM

precognitive dreamingThe subconscious mind is a tricky thing. It's responsible for the dreams filled with cartoon characters and talking animals, the kind that make you wake and wonder, "What was that?" It's also responsible for the mundane matter that makes up the vast majority of dreaming, including replays of the day's experiences and some wish fulfillment thrown in. But sometimes, the subconscious may move beyond the fantastical or boring, and propose a vision of the future.

Precognitive dreams are posited by some as the cause of "deja vu," which literally means "already seen." Dreamers may experience a dream that envisions a probable future, and when this future becomes a reality, it seems familiar, odd, and done before.

These instances of precognition can be mild and entertaining, or troubling. Anecdotal evidence relates the story of Napoleon viewing his doomed battle at Waterloo in a dream. Abraham Lincoln purportedly had a dream of a president's funeral weeks before his own death. Studies over the last century have attempted to document precognition, to varied results.
Researchers and analyzers note that precognitive dreams most likely occur with everyone, but most people do not recall their dreams long after waking. A dream journal is a handy tool to keep track of dreams, analyze their content, and determine cases of precognition.

Great post. What I did was I went to http://www.subconscious-mind.org. From there, I followed the tips and guides that they offer on improving your power.Well, I tried and I definitely can see some improvement in my condition. So, you should consider trying it too.

Christopher M Dozier:

I have been researching this type of thing for a few years now.. I KNOW this is true.. Just two days before my best friend Michael died of a drug overdose at the age of 21 I dreamed it almost exactly to the detail.. I had a dream that we were partying and all of the sudden he said I feel sick and walked to the bathroom.. I then heard a thud and ran in and he was already dead.. In my dream after the cops and all get there and leave and they body is still there he gets up and walks to me with black voids where his eyes should be and says "help me" Chris.. That part is the only part of my dream that obviously didn't match up.. I have often wandered if it was some type of sign and if I could have prevented it.. It still haunts me every day constantly.. I often dream of him being in my bedroom at the foot of my bed and I have heard his voice while trying to go to sleep.. This has really affected my life..

Megan:

I have deja vu. The doctors told me it was because of my depression. But I cant help but think otherwise. I cant explain it. It also creeps me out a bit. Knowing if some one close to you is gonna suffer. It hurts me to think that just maybe, I could help some one. But am I always to late?

Brigid:

I have deja vu all the time. I don't usually remember it until it happens and I'm just like, "Whoa, I think this has happened before."

I had this dreams while I was at about age 15(high school), I am in belief still that these dreams come at about the end of the dream. I've had several dreams that were about near future, I don’t know how or why but these things happen, but they are true. For example, in 1999 during the NATO strikes on Serbia, I dreamt about some crack in the wall in our kitchen and the day after at 8.0pm nato tomahawk hit the main power transformator for the city, as we live near, some metal rod – curtain holder in the kitchen dismantled and from the impact wave it broke the window but it wasn’t shattered it was cracked. So with these many dreams I’ve had I believe that these dreams come after the regular ones, at the end of dreaming process. How come the future can be predicted I don’t know but Christians are often forbidden to talk about these and forbidden to believe in these things as far as in our country. It was funny to remember that some TV station broadcasted Groundhog Day every day for two months  u remember the story of the movie…
