The Bridgewater Triangle

bridgewater triangleIf you live near the Hockomock Swamp in Massachusetts, congratulations! You're in the Bridgewater Triangle. The Bridgewater Triangle encompasses the area between Abington, Rehoboth and Freetown, and it's believed to be a hotbed of paranormal activity.

The Bridgewater Triangle's paranormal activity began as early as 1760, when a UFO was seen crossing the Hockomock Swamp. Onlookers described it as a "sphere on fire." In 1908, a mysterious light was spotted in the sky. Two men watched it move in circles for 40 minutes until it disappeared in the direction of Plymouth. It was thought that the light had come from some sort of hot air balloon, but a balloon would not have been able to make such movements.

Numerous cryptids have also been spotted in the area. In 1978, Joe DeAndrade saw what looked like a six-foot tall, 400-pound creature covered with hair, and in the early '80s, John Baker saw a "shadowy, hair-covered giant." Several people have reported seeing a giant prehistoric-looking bird flying overhead.

In addition to the UFOs and cryptids, criminal activity abounds in the Bridgewater Triangle. It has been the site of numerous cattle mutilations, murders, and alleged satanic rituals.

Believers attribute the paranormal and criminal activity to the torture and bloodshed that took place in the seventeenth century during King Philip's War, a conflict between Native Americans and New England colonists. Local law enforcement believes that the area's relative isolation and proximity to major highways make it an attractive target for criminals.
