Not a Chimp, Not Yet a Human

Oliver the Humanzee is a chimpanzee who was once thought to embody the missing link between apes and humans. Discovered in the Congo in the 1970s by animal trainers Frank and Janet Burger, he was brought to the United States and exhibited as a chimp-human hybrid.
Oliver was odd for a chimpanzee. He looked different than most other apes, with his hairless face, light eyes, and a tendency to walk upright. According to the Burgers, he preferred the company of humans to that of his fellow apes; he enjoyed drinking beer and watching television with them, and would occasionally help out with chores around the house. With the Burgers, Oliver made appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show and at Radio City Music Hall. Unfortunately, Oliver was attracted to human females, and had to be sold when he became a threat to Janet Burger.
Oliver began his life as a sideshow attraction after the Burgers sold him to a New York attorney, who later sold him to a group of animal trainers. These animal trainers billed Oliver as the missing link. According to the story they told, Oliver had 47 chromosomes — one less than apes, one more than humans. Oliver toured Japan in the 1970s and was exhibited at animal theme parks in Southern California. Most of his owners were unable to deal with his odd habits, however, and his sideshow career ended in 1986 when he was sold to a laboratory.
An analysis of Oliver's chromosomes has proven that he isn't the missing link after all; he has 48 chromosomes, just like a normal chimpanzee. He now lives at Primarily Primates, an animal sanctuary outside of San Antonio, Texas, which has recently been under investigation for poor treatment of its primates. Of Oliver's current living conditions, the newly appointed head of the sanctuary said, "He used to fly in a 747, smoke cigars, and drink sherry. This is not what he is used to."

He is a Bonobo Chimp. They are the most human like of the apes. You can look them up anywhere these days. The reason for his interest in females is that this type ape has the tendencies to have sexual intercourse the same way as humans. I will leave it there and let you do your own research. This chimp is very interesting...
