MUFON's Hollywood Hook-Up

Thursday October 4, 2007 8:12 AM

dan akroyd unplugged ufosAs Elwood Blues in The Blues Brothers, he looked like your classic Man In Black — black suit, black fedora, black shades. In the Coneheads he played the displaced alien Beldar, making hilarious and sometimes pointed commentary on human faults and foibles. Beldar and the Coneheads were comical products of the early "Saturday Night Live" days, but to Canadian-born actor Dan Aykroyd, real aliens are no laughing matter.

The 50-something Aykroyd, also known for his role in the 1984 paranormal hit Ghostbusters, has been open about his belief in UFOs for years, publicly supporting organizations like MUFON, and using his Hollywood resources to make certain that the truth gets out there.

His latest effort, Dan Aykroyd: Unplugged on UFOs can be viewed online and claims to contain some of the most convincing UFO footage to date. Not all interviewers or fans take Aykroyd's devotion to UFO research as seriously as he does. Aykroyd, who has won an Emmy and was nominated for a prestigious Academy Award, takes it all in stride, never faltering in his conviction that there is more to the stars than a Hollywood walk of fame.
