At the Borders of Science

Thursday October 18, 2007 8:25 AM

borderland sciencesMeade Layne was a noted spiritualist leading up and during WWII. In 1945, after establishing a group of colleagues that conducted séances, he decided to form a group dedicated to investigating "realms normally beyond the range of basic human perception and physical measurement." Borderland Sciences Research Group was born.

Today, the group serves as a resource and motivation for scholars and researchers in the fields of what they call "Lost Science." Their essential curriculum combines rare studies from experts past and present, such as Tesla, the pioneering figure in the use of electricity and electro-magnetism in the treatment of diseases. Some of their examinations of alternative science concepts include Radionics — the healing art originated from the research of Dr. Albert Abrams, who posited diseases can be measured in terms of energy — and radiation and therapeutic light, the study of radiation's ability to induce chromosomal aberrations and the effects of natural radiation.

Borderlands works to push the idea of conducting meaningful research into areas long chalked up as mysterious and unfathomable. Their primary goal? Encourage individuals to break from the masses and ask truly meaningful questions.
