But Do They Offer Arts and Crafts?

Mediums, clairvoyants and healers have gathered at Spook Hill every summer for 106 seasons for their own version of sleepaway camp. At the Wonewoc Spiritualist Camp in Wisconsin, one of 13 across the country, campgoers take workshops and classes on topics like past-life regression and seeing auras — a far cry from the typical camp classes of whitewater rafting and canoing. Campers also take advantage of ice cream socials, campfires and cheap camp lodging.
Besides camaraderie, there's another goal to this camp: make a few bucks giving readings to curious visitors, which will also ideally enhance the perception of spiritualism and eliminate the schlock image of mediums. The campgoers who offer their services get the believers, those seeking hope and advice from dead family members — along with the non-believers, those intent on picking and proving their readers wrong.
